From Canada to Florida: How Pooja Found Career Growth and a New Beginning in the U.S.

When Pooja arrived in the United States in January 2025, she wasn’t only starting a new nursing position. She was stepping into a new chapter filled with growth, opportunity, and goals she and her husband had talked about for years.
Originally from Canada, Pooja moved to Florida with ADEX and quickly realized that many of the things she had heard about nursing opportunities in the United States were true.
“You always hear people say the U.S. is the land of opportunities” she shared. “But now I’m actually seeing it firsthand.”

For Pooja, one of the biggest differences has been the professional environment and the amount of career growth available within healthcare. She explained that in the U.S., nurses who want to grow professionally are encouraged to take the next step, learn new skills, and pursue new opportunities. “If you show ambition and that you want to grow, people will guide you and help you get there” she said. “They make sure you’re trained and supported.”

After a year and a half in Florida, Pooja says she and her husband are loving their new life in the United States. From the lifestyle to new experiences and everyday moments, they have been embracing this new chapter together.
Moving to Florida also meant something very personal for their family. Her husband had always dreamed of living in Florida, and after getting married, the couple began seriously discussing how they could make that dream possible together.
“When this opportunity with ADEX came up, everything started becoming real,” Pooja explained.

Today, the couple are permanent residents and building the future they once imagined for themselves. Throughout the process, Pooja says having support made a major difference. From immigration guidance to helping them transition into a new country and healthcare system, ADEX was there throughout the journey. “This would not have been possible any other way” she shared.

For Pooja, this experience also represents a personal accomplishment that goes far beyond career growth.

She described how meaningful it has been for her family to see everything she has achieved and how emotional it feels to know she was able to create opportunities that once felt far away.
“My mom could not even imagine that one day her daughter would be living in the States” she shared.
