Khanh Linh: Finding Growth, Purpose, and Support as a Nurse in the U.S.

This week, we’re proud to share Khanh’s journey from Vietnam to the United States—a story of learning, teamwork, and the
everyday impact nurses make on the lives of their patients.

My name is Khanh, but I go by Riley. I am an RN originally from Vietnam.
What I love about being a nurse in the U.S. is the sense of teamwork and support I’ve experienced through ADEX and other
nurses with the same agency. The healthcare system here is advanced and more rewarding compared to my country back
in Vietnam.

I also appreciate the opportunity given by the hospital for a new grad nurse like me, which allows me to continuously learn
and grow in my profession. As cliché as it sounds, we have the chance to make a great impact on people’s lives.

Every day is a chance to make a difference, whether it’s offering comfort, helping a patient or their loved one heal, or just
being there when they need support. The job is very demanding and at times it takes a lot out of you, but a simple thank
you from the patient and their families makes the whole job worth it.
While on this job, I’ve also received a DAISY Award nomination, which has given me even more motivation to keep doing
better.

Overall, being a nurse in the U.S. has been an exciting opportunity for both personal and professional growth.
